Born in Tacarigua, Trinidad & Tobago, Tara moved to the United States in her early 20s and settled in Brooklyn, New York. There, she worked hard to support herself through school and earned a full scholarship to complete her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.
Tara’s greatest joy in life was her three children—Nadia, Sara, and Joe. She also treasured her two grandchildren, Presley and Peyton. Known for her exceptional cooking, warm spirit, and sense of humor, Tara loved to make everyone feel welcomed and cared for. Her faith in Jesus Christ was central to her life, and she was actively involved in her local church community, always eager to help others.
In the early 2000s, Tara and her children moved to Tampa, Florida, where she spent her remaining years. She found peace in tending to her garden and enjoying the simple pleasures of life, like watching the rain fall from her window.
Tara fought a hard battle against cancer for over a year. Despite surgery and treatment, she passed away on July 25, 2025. She is survived by her children Nadia, Sara, and Joe; her son-in-law Mason; and her grandchildren Presley and Peyton. She will be missed deeply by all who knew her.
A visitation will be held on Friday, August 1, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Blount and Curry Funeral Home Oldsmar West Hillsborough Chapel, 6802 Silvermill Drive, Tampa, FL 33635, followed by a funeral service from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM.
