Timothy Allen Ziegler

Tim was born in Souderton, PA to Mervin and Emma Gene Ziegler on October 6, 1955. As a boy, Tim was the kid that always had a baseball glove with him. He even slept with one under his pillow for playing baseball was the only thing he ever wanted to do. Tim received a letter from the Philadelphia Phillies inviting him to tryouts. Although he was not able to attend, he always felt honored for the opportunity. Shortly after graduating from Souderton High School, he embarked on a journey around the United States with his best friend Ernie in a RV, taking odd jobs on the way to fund their adventure. He married Joanne Toro on July 18, 1987 and settled in Telford, PA. After working for the family-owned business many years, Tim purchased Ziegler’s Tree Service and simultaneously co-owned and operated Cone Zone ice cream parlor with Joanne for 3 years until moving to Florida. Tim and his brother Dave founded Ziegler Brothers Country Homes, building and developing over 40 custom homes in the Lutz and Tampa Bay area from 1996 to 2008. Upon retirement, Tim enjoyed golfing with his son and his friends, actively participated in a golf league, spending time at Anna Maria Island, and riding his bicycle around the neighborhood. Tim was given the honorary title as “Mayor of Hampton Lakes” in Westchase for his active involvement in the community.

Tim is preceded in death by his parents Mervin and Emma Gene, and his brother David.

Tim is survived by Former Spouse: Joanne Ziegler, Daughter: Courtney Cartwright (spouse, Ryan), Son: Adam Ziegler, Brother: Edward Ziegler (spouse, Roseanne), Granddaughter: Charlotte Rose Cartwright and several nieces and nephews.

Celebration of Life will begin at 12:00 PM on August 20, 2021 at Blount & Curry Funeral Home Oldsmar West Hillsborough Chapel. The family is allowing time for those who would like to say a few words about Tim during the service.
