

Adam C. (A. C.) Heide, age 88, of Moody passed away Wednesday, May 9, 2012 at his residence. Services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, May 12, at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home with Rev. Clyde Nichols officiating. Burial will be private. Visitation will be 6:00 - 8:00 PM Friday at the funeral home. Mr. Heide was born May 16, 1923 in Gagetown, Michigan to Carl and Theresa Heide. He proudly served his country in the U. S. Army during WW II from 1943 to 1946. He was a sergeant at McCloskey General Hospital in Temple. Adam married the love of his life, Syble Russ on December 24, 1946 at the First Baptist Church in Temple. They moved to Roseville, Michigan in 1950 where he worked for Ford Motor Company for the next 30 years. He also worked for Gentz Industries in Warren, Michigan where he did airplane work. He was an endowed member of the Blue Lodge Masons at Roseville Masonic Lodge #522. They moved back to Temple in 1980 where he became an endowed member of Scottish Rite Bodies and a member of Karem Shrine in Waco. He was also a life member of American Legion Post #133 in Temple. He previously worked at Bellwood Memorial Park and also for the Temple Lincoln dealer where he transported cars. Adam was a people person who loved to make people laugh. He had lots of friends and was a very hard worker. He was preceded in death by his parents and his 11 siblings. Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Syble Heide of Moody, three daughters, Sonia Drake and husband, BB of Lott, Ann Rattee and husband, William, Jr. of Clinton Township, Michigan, Pamela Harrell and husband, John of Cego, one adopted daughter, Cherri Lynn Heide of Lott, 16 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Odyssey Hospice for their loving and compassionate care.
