

Anna Marie Mokry passed away peacefully on December 12, 2023 after a brief illness surrounded by family. Visitation services will be Sunday, Dec. 17, 2023 from 5-7:00 pm at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home, 3110 Airport Road, Temple, TX. Funeral services will be Monday, December 18, 2023 at 11:00am at Saint Luke Catholic Church, 2807 Oakdale Dr., Temple, TX. Burial will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, FM 485 near Cyclone.
Anna was born on April 27, 1940 in Bartlett, Texas to Alvin & Olga (Voigt) Lange. The youngest of three children, she grew up on a farm in Bartlett learning to drive a tractor before a car. She graduated from Bartlett High School in 1958. She married Edward J. Mokry Sr. on April 25, 1959 at SS Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church in Granger. They were married 63 years before his passing on July 24, 2022.
Anna and Edward had four children and while the children were young, she was a homemaker. She began working at Sears in the Temple Mall first selling TVs & stereos and later working in Customer Service. In 1992, she began working for RVOS Insurance in as an Underwriter and later retired in 2005. She loved cooking, sewing and quilting in later years. She was a beloved grandmother and great-grandmother. Family always came first. Anna and Edward were founding members of St. Luke Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Robert & Franklin Lange, sisters-in-law, Delores Mackey and Sybil Heselmber, brothers-in-law, Erwin Heselmeyer and Clyde Skrhak.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Brenda Mokry & husband Mike Atkinson, Diane Mills & husband Troy Mills, Carol Hammer & husband Tony Hammer; a son Edward J Mokry, Jr. and wife Jackie Mokry; grandchildren, Megan Downing & husband Paul, Chase Crocker & wife Michelle, Nicolas Hammer, David Witcher & wife Amy, Angela Mills and Carmen Ellis and 14 great-grandchildren.
Also, sisters-in-laws, Pansy Lange, Georgie Edmonds, Dorothy Skrhak and Linda Mokry; brothers-in-law, David Edmonds & Joe Mokry; numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Brookdale Western Hills and Baylor Scott & White Hospice.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to American Cancer Society or a charity of your choice.
