Beatrice Jean Ellis, age 88 of Temple, died Tuesday, March 3, 2015 at a local hospital. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, March 6, at Bellwood Memorial Park. Mrs. Ellis was born January 25, 1927 in Abbott, Texas to Otto and Laura Thomas Benkendorfer. She graduated from Jefferson Davis High School in Houston. She married Marshall Ellis on April 28, 1949. She retired as a file clerk from Scott & White Hospital in May, 1999. She was preceded in death by her husband and one grandchild. Survivors include three children, Danny Ellis and wife, Pam of Bruceville-Eddy, Jimmy Ellis and wife, Karen of Temple and Marsha Lewis and husband, Kelly of Oenaville, one brother, Bill Benkendorfer of Belton and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Life Skills Class, Academy ISD, 704 East Main Street, Academy, Texas 76554.
