

In loving memory of Bernard Urban Weber, affectionately known as Bernie, of Temple, Texas, who peacefully passed away on January 22, 2024, following a courageous six-year battle with cancer. Born on November 14, 1939, in Decatur, Illinois, Bernie was the beloved son of Urban George Weber and Anastasia Blank Weber. After high school, Bernie embarked on adventures that led him from Chicago to California where he formed lifelong friendships. He then proudly answered the call of duty to serve his country in the US Army. His military service brought him to Texas, where he created and established his beautiful family and a successful career in sales. Bernie’s dedication and pride in delivering a job well done for his clients were evident throughout his accomplished career, starting with Temple Brick & Block and later dedicating many years to Cen-Tex Fence. Bernie had an extraordinary ability to make everyone feel loved and welcomed with a warm smile. His legacy will continue to flourish through the lives he touched and the memories he created. Beyond his professional accomplishments, Bernie had a deep passion for golf and racing, interests that added vibrancy to his life. He cherished time on the golf course, finding joy in the sport’s challenges and camaraderie. His enthusiasm for racing, whether watching or participating, was a testament to his adventurous spirit. Bernie is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Russell Dean Weber. Survived by his wife of 37 years, Gladys J Weber, Bernie is remembered with love by his blended family of six daughters: Laura Perez, Laney Autrey and husband Jimmy, Lesley Weber, Marla Chick and husband Robert, Melissa Parks, Mindy Roeder and husband Mike. His sister, Carolyn W. Baker, along with her husband Bernie, niece Tina, and nephew Bryon from California, a sister-in-law Margarita Weber from Arizona. Bernie took great pride in his 11 grandchildren: Victoria, Alexis, Wyatt, Jacob, Kyle, Michael, Luke, Lane, Rachel, Katie, and Allie. Additionally, he leaves behind seven great-grandchildren, with another expected in March. A celebration of Bernie’s life will take place at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, February 24, 2024, at Troy Baptist Church, 20 Church Ave., Troy, Texas 76579, with a reception to follow in the fellowship hall upstairs. The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the entire medical staff at the VA Hospital for their unwavering commitment, compassionate care, and kindness during Bernie’s illness.
