Betty Jean Cloud

Betty Jean Cloud, age 87 of Temple, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Thursday September 28, 2017.  She was born in Gatesville on July 29, 1930 to Ed H. and Selma Lengefeld.  She graduated from Temple High School and attended Southwestern University.  Betty Jean was passionate about her family, friends, bridge or any card games, picking and shelling pecans and Blue Bell Ice Cream.  She was one of the first presidents of the Yellow Birds, the volunteer organization of Scott and White Memorial Hospital.  She was a long-time member of First Baptist Church of Temple. Betty Jean was an avid Bridge player and achieved the honor of Life Master with her 50 year bridge partner Janice Walker. She is preceded in death by her parents and sister Joy Walker Farris.  Survivors include loving husband of 66 years William P. (Bill) Cloud, Children, Renee Fuller, Susan (Mancel) Bolton, Perry (Laura) Cloud, 5 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Mark Fuller, Will Bolton, Thomas Cloud, Bruce Walker, Andrew Cloud, John Cloud, Mike Marshall, Tony Moncivais and Jerod Welch. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to the Ronald McDonald House of Temple, 2415 S 47th St, Temple, TX 76504 or the charity of donor’s choice. Funeral Service will be held on Monday October 2, 2017 at 10: 00 AM at First Baptist Church – Temple.  Private family burial will follow.  Scanio Harper Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
