Betty Joyce Galloway Rowell, 76, of Temple, died Friday, April 4, 2008 in a local hospital. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Monday, April 7, 2008 at the Scanio-Harper Funeral Home with Dr. Tom Henderson officiating. Burial will follow at Bellwood Memorial Park. Visitation will be held 6:00-8:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. She was born March 6, 1932 at The Mound to Otho and Amanda Whitenburg Galloway. On December 12, 1969, she married Phillip Rowell in Temple. She worked for Temple Independent School District for 19 years and was a member of Heights Baptist Church in Temple. Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Gaylene Galloway of Temple; two sons, Dick Dixon and wife Sandy of Temple and Craig Martin and wife Donna of Missouri City; two sisters, Pat Brazzil of Gatesville and Shirley McCord of New Braunfels; six grandchildren, Brett, Matthew, Jera, Saylie, Mason, and Roman; and numerous nieces and nephews.
