
Bill Miller, 67, of Little River died Thursday, February 14, 2008 at his home. Memorial services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday at the Scanio-Harper Funeral Home with Dr. Rodney Kruse officiating. Burial will be private. Mr. Miller was born in Bell County, Texas to Marlin Clarence and Mary Jane Lewis Miller. He was a graduate of Academy High School and received his Associate Degree from Central Texas College. He had worked as a warrant officer in Fort Worth, and then worked for the Temple Police Department in patrol and narcotics and also with the Temple Fire Department. He joined the Bell County Sheriff Department in October of 1975 and retired in July of 2001 as a Major. He was a member of the Texas Sheriff's Association and was a member of the Holland Masonic Lodge. He was a poet. Survivors include his wife, Kay Miller of Little River; one daughter, Julie York of Montgomery, Missouri; three sons, Shawn Miller of Weatherford, Texas, Pat Colacino of Temple, and Robert Colacino of Grand Saline, Texas; ten grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.
