
Mrs. Carolyn Reed Heugatter, 62, of Temple died Friday, October 28, 2005 in a Temple hospital. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 31, 2005 at the Western Hills Church of Christ with Minister Scott Meyer officiating. Burial will follow at Reed Cemetery. Mrs. Heugatter was born in Wichita Falls, Texas the daughter of Earl Dean and Emma Mae Gilliam Reed. She had been an area resident for many years. She was retired, with 20 years service, from the United States Department of Agriculture as a legal technician for the Office of General Council. She was an active volunteer for the American Cancer Society having worked locally with the Reach for Recovery Program of the American Cancer Society. She was a member of the Western Hills Church of Christ in Temple. She also was an avid painter, crafter, and enjoyed sewing. Mrs. Heugatter is survived by her husband, Wayne Heugatter of Temple, one son, Darrell Heugatter of Troy, her mother, Mae Barter of Temple, her father, Earl Dean Reed of Rogers, and one brother, Ray Reed of Academy. A family visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Sunday, October 30, 2005 at the Scanio-Harper Funeral Home in Temple. The family requests that memorials be made to the American Cancer Society, 1311 North New Road, Waco, Texas 76710-4899.
