Memorial services and burial for Charles Marston Kirk, 84, of Temple will be held at a later date in Mason City, Iowa. Mr. Kirk died Tuesday January 24, 2006 in a Temple Nursing Home. Mr. Kirk was born in Mason City, Iowa to Roger Kirk and Dorothy Marston Kirk. He married Helen Peterson, who preceded him in death Oct. 1, 2001. He served as a pilot in the Navy during World War II. After the war he worked as a pilot in Alaska, the Mediterranean and the Caribbean. He also worked for Catalina Airlines in California. Survivors include one son Russell Kirk of California; three sisters Pat Bastian of Iowa, Dorothy Lauken of California and Polly Merksy of Minnesota, and one grandchild. Scanio Harper Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
