In the early hours of Tuesday, November 3, 2020, God had our Momma (Dois Roskey) in His loving arms. Services will be held at 4:00 PM Saturday, November 7th at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home with Rev. Loyd Hall officiating. Visitation will be 3:00 – 4:00 PM Saturday prior to the service. Burial will be 3:00 PM Sunday, November 8th at Chriesman Cemetery in the Chriesman Community in Burleson County with Ben and Brooke Graham providing the committal rites.
Edith Dois Roskey was born April 24, 1930 in the Chriesman Community to Andrew Emerson Ryan and Ima Florene Segler Ryan. On December 25, 1947, it was God’s plan for her to unite in marriage to the love of her life, James Alton Roskey.
Dois was a hairdresser and owned and operated the La Bonita Beauty Salon that she built from the ground up and was able to give 16 hairdressers at one time for years a place to share their skills. She also owned The Petite Beauty Shop and La Bonita Boutique.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her three sisters who she loved so dearly, Margaret (Dot) Barfield, JoAnn (Jo) Schott and Patsy (Pat) Younts. Survivors include her husband, James, three children, Marvin Roskey and wife, Marilyn of Austin, Lloyd Roskey and wife, Shirley of Temple and DiAnn Mundkowsky and husband, Harvey of Temple, nine grandchildren, Shane Roskey, Justin Roskey (Dianna), Reece Roskey, Andrew Roskey, Jason Roskey, Rebekah Schlegel (Jeremy), Keith Allison, Ryan Allison and Blake Woolbright and 10 great-grandchildren, Matthew Roskey, Leona Lora Roskey, Charlie Roskey, Riggs Roskey, Taylor Schlegel, Collin Schlegel, Cooper Allison, Caysen Allison, Cayden Allison and Haygen Woolbright.
