Don was born in Canton, Ohio on April 27, 1941 to Harold C. Ellis and Leila May Porter Ellis. He was preceded in death by his parents and five of his siblings. He is survived by his sister Molly Palmer of Columbus, Ohio and his daughter Lisa Marie Ellis of Austin, Texas.
Don served in the United States Army for six years having completed his service in 1974. He achieved the rank of Sergeant.
Graveside services will be conducted at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery, 11463 State Highway 195, Killeen, Texas on Wednesday, November 20, 2019 at 11:00 am.
