Donna Kay (Carver) Hill, 75, of Temple, Texas, passed away on February 8, 2025. She was born on October 8, 1949, to J.G “Bill” and Mildred (Bolin) Carver in Temple, where she spent her life devoted to family, faith, and service to others.
Donna graduated from Temple High School in 1968 and went on to earn her nursing degree from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor (Scott & White Nursing School) in 1972. She dedicated over 39 years to nursing, working in surgery, home health, and Early Childhood Intervention (ECI), forming lasting friendships throughout her career.
On January 8, 1972, Donna married the love of her life, Jimmy D. Hill, at Immanuel Baptist Church in Temple. They shared over 52 wonderful years together until his passing in August 2024. Donna was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend who cherished time with her family. Whether planning reunions, attending school events, or taking her grandchildren to the lake or beach, she found joy in every moment spent with loved ones.
A woman of deep faith, Donna was a longtime member of Lakeview Baptist Church and later Heights Baptist Church. She was passionate about church activities, leading Bible Drill teams, teaching Sunday School, mentoring young girls through the Girls in Action missionary program, and volunteering in the church office.
Donna had a love for football—especially the Temple Wildcats and Texas Longhorns—attending playoff games and Friday night lights with enthusiasm. While living in Germany, she developed a fondness for Hummel figurines and built a cherished collection.
She is survived by her daughters, Melissa Teague and husband Tony and Karen Cotton and husband Cody; brothers Billy Carver, Danny Carver (her twin), and George Michael Carver; grandchildren Alaina de Keratry and husband Steven, Gracie Teague, Kinley Cotton, and Kaylin Cotton; and great-grandchildren Isabella de Keratry and Theodore de Keratry. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Jimmy Hill; sisters Joyce Lewis and JoAnn Davenport; and brothers Lynn Carver and Robert Carver.
In honor of her love for Temple High School, we welcome all who attend the visitation to wear their Wildcat gear or blue and white to celebrate the spirit of the school that she cherished.
Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 16, 2025, at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home. Her funeral will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, February 17, 2025, at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home with burial to follow at Bellwood Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heights Baptist Church Youth Fund or the Temple High School Band Booster Club.
