Donna Marie (Richardson) Howell

Loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend, Donna Marie Howell went to be with her Savior on Sunday, Jan. 12, 2025, in Temple. Donna was born on Sept. 12, 1952, in Temple to Preston and Doris Richardson. She graduated from Temple High School in 1971 and worked at Temple ISD in the administration office for her entire career. Donna married her high school sweetheart, Dennis Howell, on March 6, 1971, at St. Luke’s Catholic Church in Temple and they were married for 53-plus years. He preceded her in death just two months ago on Nov. 11, 2024. She was also preceded in death by her father, Preston; mother, Doris; baby brother Richardson; and grandson, Angel.

She is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Paul and Christi Howell of Belton and Brent and Amber Howell of Lorena; sister, Judy Guenther of Morgan’s Point; uncle, Don “Buddy” Zenor of Bastrop; grandchildren, Travis and Ashley Howell of Belton, Ridge Howell of Lorena, Luke Howell and Lindsey Howell, of Academy, Mark and Zanthe Howell of Charlottesville, Va., Hunter Myers of College Station, and Keller Myers of Belton; and great-grandchildren, Evangeline and Timothy Howell of Belton.

Donna lived a life of faithfulness and saw God at work in everything. She shared her faith and love with every person she came across during her cancer treatments, lifting up many others during their own struggles. Donna had many dear friends who helped her through her cancer journey and she loved each and every one of them. Family time was precious to her and she cherished getting together with all her loved ones. She also enjoyed her breakfast and lunch groups, shopping, diamond-art painting, and hanging out with her dog, Boogie.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 17, 2025 at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home in Temple and graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 18, at Bellwood Memorial Park Cemetery with her grandsons, Ridge and Travis, officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Donna’s honor to the American Cancer Society or your favorite charity.
