Dorothy Graham Moon, age 95, passed away on Monday, May 29, 2017 in Dallas, Texas. Dorothy was born in Valley View, Texas on July 9, 1921 to Dollie Habern and Willie Haley Hunter. She graduated from the University of North Texas in 1942 and moved to Sweetwater, Texas to begin her career as the Administrative Assistant to the Superintendent of Schools. She met her first husband, Clyde W. Graham, in Sweetwater after the war and they soon married and began the many moves the family made as Clyde pursued his career in the Soil Conservation Service, Department of Agriculture. Because Clyde traveled so much with work, she stayed at home until the children were in school, and then became one of the most sought-after substitute teachers in the Temple School System. After Clyde's too-early death, Dorothy devoted herself to her church, the First United Methodist Church in Temple, becoming a member of the Administrative Board and also of the Pastor/Parish Relations Committee. For many years, she was responsible for contacting visitors to the church and fostering them as they became members. She was a Stephens Minister, visiting shut-ins and taking them to appointments. She loved the music in the church, supporting the choir, the organist and pianist. She also really enjoyed being a member of the Dawson Sunday School Class and attending their functions. After many years alone, she was courted by Wilson Moon, who had worked with Clyde and was a family friend. They married in September 2000 and spent 10 wonderful years together. Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Irma Ruth Enderby, her husbands, Clyde and Wilson, and her son, Bill Graham. Dorothy is survived by her daughters, Susan (Jim) Alexander, and Janet (Tom) Keckeisen, her daughter-in-law, Diana Graham, and three granddaughters, Stephanie Graham and Elizabeth and Mary Catherine Keckeisen. She is also survived by her brother, Bill Hunter. She loved and was loved by many nephews and nieces. Visitation will be held on Friday, June 2nd, 2017 from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home 3110 Airport Rd. Temple, TX 76504. A memorial service for Dorothy take place Saturday, June 3, 2017 at 11:00 AM at The First United Methodist Church of Temple. Burial will precede the memorial service at 9:30 AM at Bellwood Memorial Park in Temple.
