Edith Ray Grossman

Funeral services for Edith Ray Grossman, 88, of Little River-Academy will be held at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday January 26, 2016 at First Baptist Church of Academy with Rev. Brent Boatwright officiating. Burial will be in Greathouse Cemetery. Mrs. Grossman died Friday at her residence. Mrs. Grossman was born October 17, 1927 in Sparks to Grady Unberhagen and Evis Kelley Unberhagen. She graduated from Academy High School in 1944. She married Oscar Joseph Grossman, Sr. December 18, 1943. She was part owner and secretary for Grossman Ag-Chem, worked in the family farming operation and was part owner of Grossman Properties where she held a Real Estate Brokers License. She was a charter member of First Baptist Church of Academy, where she served on various committees throughout the years. She was a member of   Bell County Farm Bureau and was a 4-H leader. Mrs. Grossman was preceded in death by her parents and by two brothers Wilber Unberhagen and Boyce Unberhagen. Survivors include her husband Oscar J. Grossman, Sr. of Little River-Academy; one son Oscar J. Grossman Jr. and his wife Laura of Little River-Academy, one daughter Sheri Watson of Little River-Academy; seven grandchildren Shanna Rutledge, Oscar J. Grossman, III, Shea Davis, Amanda Zaruba, Steven Grossman, Andrew Grossman and Shalan Watson and nine great grandchildren.
