Edna Ruth Sweeney Futch

Edna Ruth Sweeney Futch, age 87, of Temple, died Wednesday June 22, 2011 at a Bartlett nursing home. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, July 2 at First Assembly of God in Paducah with a luncheon to follow. A graveside service will be held prior to the memorial service at 9:00 AM at Garden of Memories in Paducah. Visitation will be 6:00 - 8:00 PM Friday at McBee Family Funeral Home in Paducah. A visitation in Temple will be 6:30 - 8:00 PM Tuesday, June 28 at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home in Temple. Mrs. Futch was born on January 19, 1924 in Ada, Oklahoma to James Thomas Sweeney and Dora Mae Bottoms Sweeney. She moved with her family to Paducah at an early age. She graduated from Gro School. She married J. Lynn Futch on September 18, 1943 in Hollis, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death on March 9, 2007. She was a member of First Assembly of God in Belton. Survivors include one son, David Futch and wife, Laura and one daughter, Deborah Futch Yeakey all of Temple, two sisters, Mildred Mayberry of Plainview, Mary Hill of Metarie, Louisiana, one brother, James Sweeney of Paducah and two grandsons, Matthew Futch of Temple and Gary Davison of Holland. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews including Howard Smith, Jim Sweeney and Brian Sweeney all of Paducah.
