Esther Lee DeSalvo

Esther Lee DeSalvo, age 86 of Temple, formerly of Marrero, Louisiana, died Thursday, March 9, 2017 at her residence. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am Monday, March 13, 2017 at Temple Bible Church. Burial will follow at Greathouse Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 5-7:00pm Sunday at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home. Mrs. DeSalvo was born on October 14, 1930 in Bordelonville, Louisiana to the late Byron Keith and Flora Charrier Charrier. She attended schools in Bordelonville and graduated from Bordelonville High School. She married Frank DeSalvo on September 12, 1953 in St. Bernard Parish, Louisiana. Esther Lee was a member of Temple Bible Church and had a great love for her faith, family, food, friends and fun. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, a sister and a son-in-law. Survivors include a son, Gary DeSalvo and wife Bev of Temple; two daughters, Paula DeSalvo Hollier and husband Robert of Weatherford and Joy DeSalvo Sibley of Harvey, Louisiana; one brother, Arnold Keith Charrier and wife Mara Lynn of Alabama; eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Memorials may be given in Mrs. DeSalvo’s name to Temple Bible Church Building Fund, 3205 Oakview Drive, Temple, Texas 76502.
