

Eula Smith Miller, age 94, formerly of Temple and Houston died Sunday, January 24, 2010 in a Cedar Park nursing center. Services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday at Immanuel Baptist Church with Rev. Jakie Shirley officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery. Mrs. Miller was born on December 16, 1915 in Temple to Clyde and Ruth Smith. She graduated from Temple High School in 1935. She married Walter Miller on October 17, 1942 in Falmouth, Mass. He preceded her in death on August 18, 2000. Walter was sent to officer candidate school in Oklahoma and she came home and worked for Klecka Jewelry Store until 1946. She and Walter moved to Houston after WWII and lived there for 47 years. She went to business school in Houston and worked for the Smart Shop and was the secretary for the Riverview Baptist Church until 1949. She was a member of Oriental Shrine, Delphina Society and Women of Rotary. She was active in church work, choir and a volunteer at the Medical Center in Houston. She was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Temple. She was also preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Wallace Smith and Billy Smith and a sister, Doris Dooley. Survivors include her son, Walter Edward Miller and wife, Diane of Dripping Springs, two grandsons, Wesley Dale Citty of San Angelo and Ryan Walter Miller of Round Rock and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Mike Schneider, David Schneider, Joe Schneider, Billy Don Smith, Jay Dooley, Keith McCoy, Wesley Citty and Ryan Miller. Memorial donations may be made to the Methodist Children's Home, 111 Herring Avenue, Waco, Texas 76708 or charity of choice.
