Frances Bender

Frances Bender, 86, of Temple died Sunday, October 27, 2013 in Copperas Cove. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at the Meadow Oaks Baptist Church with her children officiating. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at the Woodlawn Cemetery in Woodlawn, Texas. Mrs. Bender was born May 5, 1927 in Palestine, Texas to Mark Carl and Florence Loraine Adams Richardson. She was a member of Meadow Oaks Baptist Church and was an active member of the Temple Breakfast Lions Club. She was a retired banker. She was preceded in death by her husband Dr. Fred A. Bender on June 7, 2005 and two brothers, Dr. Miles Richardson and Waldean Richardson. Visitation will be held 6-8 p.m. Monday at the Scanio-Harper Funeral Home. Survivors include daughter, Texie Sage and husband Wayne of Copperas Cove; three sons, Dr. Bob Bender and wife Beverly of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Mark Bender and wife Linda of Belton, Texas and John Bender and wife Michele of Center, Texas; 14 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Randy Bender, Joshua Bender, Joseph Bender, Grant Turnbow, Greg Turnbow, David Bender, Joel Bender, and Zack Bender. Memorials may be made to Family Promise, 1018 E.
