

Funeral services for Gary L. White, 70, of Troy will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home with Rev. Billy Koinm officiating. Burial will be in North Belton Cemetery. Mr. White died Sunday at his residence. Mr. White was born in Tyler to Herman White and Lois Epperson White. He graduated from Temple High School in 1963 and graduated from Temple Jr. College. He served in the Air Force during the Vietnam War from Aug. 1965 to Sept., 1972. He married Jill Davis Nov. 16, 1967. During high school and before joining the Air Force he worked at Johnnie's Office Supply. He was the Assistant Chief and retired as the Acting Chief of the Domiciliary at the V.A. Hospital in Temple. After retirement he enjoyed working at Academy Sports and Outdoors in the hunting and fishing departments. He lived in Morgan's Point Resort and was a member of the Volunteer Fire Department, where he served as President for four years. He was a member of Heights Baptist Church, Bell Co. Sportsman Club, had been a Boy Scout Leader, an avid deer hunter, fisherman and wood worker. Survivors include his wife Jill White of Troy, one daughter Amy Bickel and husband Jeff of Troy; one son Travis White and partner J.T. Murray of Chicago, Illinois; his mother Lois White of Temple; one brother Joe W. White and wife Sandy of Temple; one sister Judy Wisener and husband Billy of Temple; two grandchildren Brandon Baxley and Zackary Bickel; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Wednesday at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in Mr. White's name to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O.
