

Our beloved husband, father, and grandfather, Gary Moore, age 76, of Temple, passed away on Thursday, February 4th, 2016 at Scott and White Hospital after an extended illness. Funeral services will be held at 10:00am Monday, February 8, 2016 at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home with Rev. Darin Pound officiating. Burial will follow at Bellwood Memorial Park. The family will receive visitors from 5-7:00pm Sunday, February 7, 2016 at the funeral home.Gary was born on April 7th, 1939 in Temple, Texas. He graduated from Temple High School and attended Temple Junior College. On December 25, 1959, Gary married Shirley Vaughn in Temple. They were married for 56 years; they raised two children and were loving grandparents to two grandchildren. Gary lived in Temple his whole life. Gary was an outstanding auto body man. He worked for multiple dealerships in Temple, until opening his own collision shop in 1974 called Gary’s Auto Body Shop. He was a member of Street Machines Limited. Gary loved Gospel music. He was a supporter of the Crimson River Ministries and was a member of Temple First Church of the Nazarene. His family was of utmost importance to him. Gary was preceded in death by his mother and father, S.A. Moore, Ruth Moore and sister, Nancy. He is survived by his wife, Shirley, a daughter Sheryl Moore, and a son, Gerald “Bubba” Moore (daughter-in-law Becky). He leaves behind two grandchildren: Megan and Conner Moore. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to all who have been a part of Gary’s life. He will be greatly missed and remembered by many. We look forward to our reunion with him in heaven. I can only imagine.
