
OBITUARY GORDON E. WHEELER Memorial services for Gordon E. Wheeler, 78, of Little River will be held at 10:00 A.M., Thursday, December 1, 2005 at Scanio Harper Funeral Home with Wayne Wilson officiating. Mr. Wheeler died Tuesday November 29, 2005 in a Temple Hospital. He was born in Stewardstown, New Hampshire to Peter Wheeler and Stella Wheeler. He served in the Navy and the Air Force during World War II and the Korean Conflict. He received a Bachelor of Science Degree from Tarleton State University in 1969. He worked as a hairdresser for many years and taught school for several years before retiring as a mechanic from Phillips Petroleum Company. He lived in Ruidoso, New Mexico, Big Spring and Odessa before moving to Little River in 1993. He married Viva Lee Barber April 23, 1971. Survivors include his wife Viva Lee Wheeler of Little River, one son David E. Wheeler of Big Spring, two daughters Marcie Williams of Dallas and Pamela Sue Vollmar of Sugarland; two stepsons Mike Pulattie of Denton and Dan Pulattie of Georgetown, one stepdaughter Pattie Goff of Denton; one brother Sherman Wheeler of Manchester, New Hampshire; thirteen grandchildren and three great grandchildren. .
