James E. “Jim” Easterwood, age 66, of Zabcikville passed away on November 26, 2017. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, December 1st at Scanio- Harper Funeral Home at 3110 Airport Road in Temple. He was born June 12, 1951 to John Edwin and Virginia Doris Easterwood of Temple, Texas. He grew up in Temple and graduated from Temple High School in 1969. He was employed by McLane Distribution and W & B Services Company as a refrigeration mechanic. Jim enjoyed life’s simple pleasures such as fishing, grilling on his Old Smokey, watching football and his beloved dachshund, Trevor. He is survived by his two adult children, Allen Easterwood of Leedale and Alyssa Easterwood of Austin. Allen’s wife, Sarah, Alyssa’s fiance Nate and two grandchildren, Elle and Everett. He is also survived by two sisters, Carol Prater of Temple and Peggy Schweiger of Spring, Texas. In Lieu of flowers donations can be made to the American Cancer Society at www.cancer.org.
