

Jane Elizabeth McMahon was born June 11, 1930 to Francis and Henrietta (Bennett) McMahon in Portland, Connecticut. She was raised in Madison, Connecticut and graduated from Hand Academy. She married Armedie Joseph (A.J.) Mayo Jr. on April 24, 1954. As a military spouse Jane lived in various states and overseas before settling in Temple in 1974. She worked for the Texas Dept. of Health for 14 years and following her retirement she volunteered at Kings Daughters Hospital in the Ladies Auxiliary for 12 years, was a former member Ft. Hood NCO Wives Club, and a member of Ladies Auxiliary of St. Luke Catholic Church. She was a long time member of St. Luke Catholic Church.
Jane is survived by her children; son, Christopher Mayo (Linda), Daughter, Kelly Mayo, son, A.J. Mayo (Glen), Grandchildren; Janna Konvicka (James), Brian Mayo (Allison); great-grandchildren, Kieran Konvicka, Taryn Konvicka, Callen Mayo, Braelyn Konvicka, Aria Mayo, and Bennett Mayo; Nephews; Allan Lee Paddack (Ginger), Michael McMahon. Jane is also survived by her beloved Barnes Family and other dearly loved extended family.
Jane is remembered for her loving kindness, quick smile and laugh and her love for family and friends. She was a bright light in the lives of many people.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Armedie Joseph Mayo, Jr., brothers, William R. McMahon, Francis E. McMahon, Jr., Walter McMahon, and sister Lillian E. Paddack.
Visitation will be Friday, March 22, 2023 from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home.
Funeral Service will be 2:00 PM, Saturday, March 23, 2023 at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home.
Burial will follow in the Bellwood Memorial Park.
