A celebration of life for Janet will be held at 2:00 pm, Friday, April 24, 2026, at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home in Temple. Visitation will be an hour prior from 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm.
Janet was a lifelong resident of Bell County. She was born on May 17, 1971, in Temple, Texas, to Roy and Wilma Reid.
She attended Belton High School and later Texas A&M University. On April 15, 1995, she married the love of her life, Greg Easley, in Waco, Texas.
Janet dedicated 32 years to education, serving students in Belton ISD, Temple ISD, and Troy ISD. She found her true calling as a Resource and Dyslexia teacher, where her compassion, patience, and belief in her students made a lasting impact. Janet was deeply devoted to her work and always saw the potential in every child she taught.
Outside the classroom, Janet found joy in quilting, gardening, walking, yoga, and exercising at the gym. She loved playing games with her family, visiting with friends, fishing—especially with her dad—and spending meaningful time with those she loved most.
A devoted Christian, Janet was an active member of The Fillin’ Station in Salado, Texas, where her faith and kindness were evident to all who knew her.
Janet is survived by her husband, Greg Easley of Moody, Texas; her sons, Kaleb Easley and Tyler Easley, both of Moody, Texas; her parents, Roy and Wilma Reid of Belton, Texas; her brother, Robert Reid and wife Misty of Temple, Texas; her sister, Jennifer Combs and husband Keith of Huntington, Texas; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated doctors, nurses, and staff who provided exceptional care: Dr. Shelley Cole at Healthy Success, MD Anderson Cancer Center, Baylor Scott & White – Temple, and Baylor Scott & White Hospice.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you spread wildflower seeds somewhere in her memory. Janet’s favorites were bluebonnets and Indian paintbrushes.
