
Joe Erwin Griffith, age 62, of Temple, formerly of Davilla, passed away on Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at his residence. He was born on November 1, 1953 in Abilene, Texas the son of Melvin Edward and Winnie Lolita Griffith. On July 25, 1981 in Houston, Texas he married Brenda Villareal. Joe was a Journeyman Glazier, former owner of Bartlett Glass and Mirror, and worked for Centex Glass and Mirror retiring in 2011. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Rogers, Texas where he also served for many years as a deacon. He is survived by his wife Brenda Griffith of Temple, sons Joe Griffith II of Temple and James (Bethany) Griffith of Gatesville, grandchildren, Shelby Rene Hall, Gracie Nicole Griffith, Logan Patrick Griffith, and Declan Andrew Griffith, a brother Jerry Don (Pat) Griffith of Davilla, sister-in-law Doris Griffith of Houston, and a brother-in-law Charles Ray Brown of Moody. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Ima Lee Brown, brothers Bobby Edward Griffith and Jimmy Howard Griffith, a nephew Charles Brown Jr., and his granddaughter Natalie Nicole Griffith. A visitation will take place on Friday, July 15, 2016 from 6:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M. at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 16, 2016 at 10:00AM at First Baptist Church in Rogers, Texas. Burial will take place at 1:30 P.M. at North Belton Cemetery in Belton, Texas.
