

John Richard Cook September 30, 1947 - February 16, 2018 John Richard Cook, 70, died Friday, February 16, 2018, in the VA Hospital in Temple Texas. He was born on September 30, 1947, in Beaumont, Texas to Joseph Clifton Cook Sr. and Margaret E Cook. Mr. Cook served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Mr. Cook was the Senior Deacon of the Spirit of Truth Ministries in Austin, Texas. Mr. Cook was active in the Security Business and a long time resident of Austin, Texas. Mr. Cook is survived by his brother, Joseph Clifton Cook Jr, of Carlsbad, California; sister Mary Cook Riddle of Cedar Park, Texas; William E. Cook, of Baytown, Texas; Haley D. Cook of Orange, Texas; and closest nephew Joseph Clifton Cook 3rd of Austin, Texas. He was preceded in death by his brother James W. Cook of Baytown, Texas. A graveside service with Military Honors will be held for Mr. Cook at 1:00 p.m. Monday, March 12, 2018, at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, 1520 Harry Wurzback Road, San Antonio, Texas 78209. His family paid this tribute to him, “Our Brother was a strong Christian man, who always was willing to help anyone. He always witnessed to folks about God and never drifted from his beliefs.
