John R. Slye, 97, of Temple, Texas died Monday, March 23, 2020 at a local hospital. Private graveside service will be held Saturday for family members only only because of the virus outbreak. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
John was a retired electrician for the City of Temple and served in WW II. His most memorable events in that campaign were the Battle of the Bulge and the Capture of the Remagen bridge.
He was preceded in death his wife, Doris V. Slye and one daughter.
He is survived by son, Richard Slye; one daughter, Susan Christian 4 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
