Joy Jorene Evans

Joy dedicated much of her life to caring for others, working in home medical care before later serving her community as a retail clerk until her retirement.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Vernon Hein, Jr; her children, Angel (Lance) Miller, Zack (Sarah) Elbers, and Robert (Shilpa) Evans; and her cherished grandchildren, Ryan Thomas, Reagan Thomas, Jaxon Elbers and Emma Elbers, Ally Miller, Mollie Miller, and Landree Miller. She was also blessed with two great-grandchildren, Rome Erwin and Raelynn Erwin.

Joy is further survived by her brother, Sonny Deshotel; and her sisters, Robin Deshotel and Terri Vasquez.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Roland and Cheryl Deshotel, and her brother, Shane Sonnier.

A Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday, February 21, 2026 at 11:00 am at the Main Street Hall 12 S. Main St. Temple, Texas 76501.
