
Funeral services for Joyce Marie Meissner, 74, of Temple will be held Wednesday at 11:00 A.M. at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Copperas Cove with Rev. Dana Wilhelmsen and Rev. Robert Wagner officiating. Burial will be in Immanuel Lutheran Church Cemetery. Mrs. Meissner died Sunday in a Temple Hospital. Mrs. Meissner was born in Giddings Sept. 14, 1935 to Otto Faske and Josephine Marie Allen Faske. She was confirmed April 10, 1949 by Rev. Max Studtmand. Her confirmation verse is "The Lord is with you while you be with him, and if you seek him, he will be found of you, but if you forsake him, he will forsake you. II Chronicles 15:2. She graduated from Giddings High School in 1953. She married Clarence Meissner June 21, 1953. He preceded her in death Aug. 6, 2003. She lived in the Houston area, Gatesville and Copperas Cove before moving to Temple in 2003. She was a homemaker and had worked in the family jewelry business in Giddings and had worked as a seamstress at Walls Factory Outlet in Gatesville. She had been a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Copperas Cove, First Lutheran Church in Gatesville and was currently a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Temple. She was a member of the Ladies Aid Society and had served as President. Besides being a dedicated wife, Joyce felt that her most important role in life was being a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother. We will never be able to replace Joyce in our hearts, but we know that her legacy will live on for generations. Mrs. Meissner was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers Charles Ray Faske, Robert "Bobby' Faske and Ottis Faske. Survivors include two sons Dwayne Meissner of Dallas and Darrell Meissner of Palestine; two daughters Danette Pappas of California and Denise Meisner of Temple; one brother Dewey Faske of Houston; one sister Mary Jane Biesert of Houston; two grandchildren and two great grandchildren and 1 more is expected soon. She is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles who she loved with all her heart. Memorials may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church ALMS Fund 2109 W Ave H Temple, Texas 76504. Visitation will be from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Tuesday at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home. The family would like to thank all of Joyce's caregivers; the nurses and staff at Weston Inn and the staff of Respiratory and Progressive ICU at Scott and White Hospital.
