Visitation will be from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Thursday July 20, 2023 at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be held at 10:00AM, Friday, July 21, 2023 at Temple Christian Center with Rev. Kerry Sharp officiating. Burial will be in Bellwood Memorial Park.
Mrs. Placker was born October 5, 1938 in Liberty, Texas to Homer Buton Hayes and Edna Brown Hayes. She married Frank Carroll in 1958. He preceded her in death in 1970. She married Ernest Leroy Placker, Sr. in 1986 and he preceded her in death in 2015. She had worked for K-Mart, Goose Creek ISD and Temple Christian Center. She lived in Liberty, Baytown and Tulsa, Oklahoma before moving to Temple in 1984. She had been a member of Faith Temple in Baytown, Temple Christian Center in Temple where she was a Ladies Auxillary Leader. She was a Missionary to India.
Mrs. Placker was preceded in death by her parents and two sons Ernest Placker, Jr and David Carroll sisters Emajean Satterwhite, Dorothy Webb, Katherine Mayfield Burns, Edna Ainsworth and Nancy Burns and brother J.B. Hayes; grandchildren Melissa Lee, Katherine Taylor, Joseph Cardoza and Nova-Lee Harris.
Survivors include two sons Paul Carroll and wife Alice of Hardin, Texas and Michael Placker of Mountain Home, Arkansas; four daughters Cynthia Conley and husband Walter of Temple, Nikki Ladden and husband Bruce of Austin, LaVonda Cardoza and husband Joe of Temple and Kathleen Roberts and husband Craig of Des Moines, Iowa; two daughter-in-laws Susie Placker of Texas City and Nadine Carroll of Temple; two sisters Margaret Guillory and Christine Sharp; 44 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.
