Joyce Sioux Adams Dowell Wesson, age 69, of Salado died peacefully on Wednesday, July 8, 2009 in Temple Santa Fe Hospital. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, July 18 at Val Verde Baptist Church in Val Verde, Texas on FM 2268 (8 miles east of Holland). She was born on January 10, 1940, in Bennington, Oklahoma to Hubert and Anna Mae Adams. Joyce spent most of her life in the nursing field in the Central Texas area as well as nursing at Scott & White Hospital. Survivors include four children, Sheri Cope of Tequesta, Florida, Lisa Benolken and husband, Frank of Salado, Lynette Sauceda and husband, Sergio of Belton and Steven Clay Dowell, Sr. and wife, Cheryl of Moody, 13 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Also surviving are five siblings, Mildred Reed of Oklahoma, Doris Vardell of Amarillo, Roy Adams of Olustee, Oklahoma, Dorothy Kendrix of New Castle, Oklahoma and Donnie Adams of Olustee, Oklahoma.
