Katie Ruth Christensen

Graveside services for Katie Ruth Christensen, 90, of Temple will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery with Rev. Ronnie Hood officiating. Mrs. Christensen died Friday at her residence. Mrs. Christensen was born in Chase, Louisiana to H.I. McDuff and Martha Evaline Colter McDuff. She graduated from High School and attended Nursing School. She married James Raymond Christensen May 15, 1943 in Monroe, Louisiana. She was an Air Force wife and participated in Officers Wives Club for 28 years. She was a member of Canyon Creek Baptist Church. Mrs. Christensen was preceded in death by two sisters Elsie Dawkins and Grace Arnold and son-in-law Ronald Chaloupka. Survivors include her husband of 70 years James Raymond Christensen of Temple; one son James Raymond Christensen Jr. of Trinidad; two daughters Judy Kaye Chaloupka of Wilber, Nebraska and Peggy Sue Rogers and her husband Thomas Ray Rogers of Temple; five grandchildren Michael Chaloupka of Kansas City, Missouri, Jill Chaloupka of Wilber, Nebraska, Jeff Chaloupka of Lincoln, Nebraska, Sara Rogers of San Antonio and Scott Rogers and his wife Erin of Waco and seven great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Canyon Creek Baptist Church Building Fund. Scanio-Harper Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
