
Larry Maxwell, age 68, of Temple died Wednesday, February 3, 2010 at his residence. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, February 6, at First Presbyterian Church in Temple with Rev. Margaret Boles officiating. Burial will be private. Mr. Maxwell was born on March 31, 1941 in Alexandria, Louisiana to Thomas Allen and Eva Louise (Gorham) Maxwell. He was reared and educated in Tioga, Louisiana. He graduated from Tioga High School and Northeast Louisiana State College (School of Pharmacy) in Monroe, Louisiana where he was in the ROTC. He joined the U. S. Army in 1962 and attained the rank of Captain. He married Sharon Waller on August 13, 1972 in Vicksburg, Mississippi. He worked as a pharmacist at the V. A. Hospital in Temple for the past 18 months. He was a Mason and a Shriner. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife, Sharon Maxwell of Temple, four sons, Martin Maxwell of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Cary Maxwell and wife, Kelly of Temple, Chris Maxwell and wife, Megan of Orlando, Florida, Thomas Deen and wife, Violet of Warren, Arkansas, one daughter, Denise Mayeaux and husband, Gary of Ball, Louisiana and eight grandchildren. Also surviving are three brothers, Farrell Maxwell and wife, Vicki of Temple, Paul Maxwell and wife, Leann of Alexandria, Louisiana and Mark Maxwell and wife, Rita of Winnfield, Louisiana. Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association or one's favorite charity.
