Lee Roy Kohring was born on February 12, 1937 in the Clarkson Community of Milam County to the late William H. “Bill” Kohring and Valentina A. Doskocil Kohring. He graduated from Sharp High School in 1955. Lee Roy married Beavelly Christie in Temple on July 23, 1960. Lee Roy lived in the Rogers area most of his life. He farmed and ranched with his brother, Charles, for over 50 years in the Val Verde community. He served on the Rogers ISD school board for 15 years. Lee Roy enjoyed gardening, fishing, dancing, all sports, as well as polka music. He was very proud of his three grandchildren and loved taking care of them in their younger years. He loved being outdoors and always had a beautiful garden. Lee and Bev also enjoyed their many trips to the Louisiana casinos. Lee Roy was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Beavelly Kohring in 2020; and a brother, Don Kohring.
Survivors include two sons, Monte Kohring of Heidenheimer and Steven Kohring and wife Anne of Rogers; two brothers, Charles Kohring and wife Susan of Caldwell and Lloyd Kohring and wife Sandra of Holland; and three grandsons, Austin Kohring, Kasey Kohring and Joshua Kohring.
The family will receive visitors from 5-7:00pm Thursday, March 2, 2023 at the funeral home.
The family wishes to thank the staff of Canyon Creek Memory Care and Baylor Scott and White Hospice for the excellent care given to Lee Roy during his stay at the facility.
