Lillie Louise Spoonts

Lillie Louise Spoonts, age 90, of Temple, TX passed away on Sunday, December 28, 2014 at a local nursing home. She was born on February 6th, 1924 the daughter of Mark Eugene and Eva Lillie Rodgers. On June 6th, 1948 Lillie married Marvin H. Spoonts Jr. and they enjoyed 66 plus years of marriage. She was a bookkeeper and a dental assistant, a member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Temple, TX, a Daughter of the Republic of Texas, and enjoyed sewing, quilting, and needlework, and was an avid genealogist. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Lillie is survived by her husband Marvin Jr. of Temple, TX, a son Kenneth Spoonts of Temple, TX, a daughter Cynthia (Oscar Jr.) Cammuse of St. Paul, TX, a daughter-in-law Jeannie Spoonts of Belton, TX, granddaughters; Casandra (Mike) Faulkner of Ledbetter, KY, Staci (Jesse) McKean of Murphy, TX, and Jessica Cammuse of Little Elm, TX, great-grandchildren; Noah McKean, Bethany Faulkner, and David Lueck. She was preceded in death by a son Steven Spoonts, her parents, brothers; Floyd, Cleo, and Gene Rodgers, and sisters; RubyLea, Pauline Whitted, and Sibyl Wood. A visitation will take place on Tuesday, December 30, 2014 from 5pm-7pm at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home, Temple, TX. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at 1:00pm at the funeral home followed by an interment at Bellwood Memorial Park in Temple.
