

Linda McGlasson, age 67, of Temple, Texas passed away on Monday, May 20, 2024 at home in Temple. She was born on July 17, 1956 in Waco, Texas the daughter of Ed Harrington and Lois Rahyle (Smith) McGlasson.
A visitation for Linda will be held on Friday, May 24, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home, 3110 Airport Rd., Temple, TX 76504.
A private family graveside service will occur Saturday, May 25, 2024 at Heflin Cemetery, Brown County, Texas.
Linda grew up in midland, Texas where she attended Robert E. Lee high school and First Baptist Church. She accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at age 9 and was baptized there. She was diligent in pursuing the levels of study in the Girls Auxiliary (GA’s) of the Women’s Missionary Union to the highest level, Queen Regent in Service. Linda was passionate about her faith in Jesus Christ and she was always active in her church. At many stages of her life from youth until her sixties, she taught Bible classes and worked with children in Sunday school and vacation bible school. She was not afraid to share the good news of salvation by faith in Jesus and did so when the opportunity arose. She served as preschool minister and childcare director in 2 churches before returning to the classroom as a high school Spanish teacher in Van Vleck, Texas.
Linda is a graduate of Cy-Fair High School in Cypress, TX, earned a Bachelor’s from Baylor University, a Master’s from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, she was a member of First Baptist Church in Temple, was a teacher in Copperas Cove, TX, Van Vleck, TX, Wharton, TX, West, TX, and Bruceville-Eddy, TX. Also worked for Mobil in Houston. Linda also ran a daycare in Lihue Kauai, HI and at her church in Waxahachie, TX.
Linda is survived by her sister Janice Sweet and husband David of Moody, TX, nephews, Michael Garrett Sweet of Anchorage, AK, James Adam Sweet and wife Andrea of Abilene, TX, and a niece Kathryn Elizabeth "Katie" Sweet of Moody, TX, and 3 great nieces and 2 great nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents Ed and Lois McGlasson.
