Louis Anthony Maspero

Louis Anthony Maspero, age 87, of Belton, Texas passed away on Thursday, November 30, 2023 at his home in Belton. He was born on July 2, 1936 in San Antonio, Texas the son of Anthony Francis and Monica Helen (Valdez) Maspero.

A funeral mass will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday, December 12, 2023 at St. Luke Catholic Church in Temple. Inurnment will take place at St Luke Columbarium.

A visitation will take place on Monday, December 11, 2023 from 4:00pm – 6:00pm at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home in Temple followed by a family remembrance at 6:00pm and Rosary at 6:30pm at the funeral home.

Louis earned a Bachelor’s Degree from St, Mary’s College in San Antonio, earned his Master’s Degree from Harvard University, served his country in the United States Army, went to work as a salesman for Ralph Wilson Plastics (Wilsonart) and retired in 2001 as Vice President of Wilsonart after 30 plus years of service. Louis was also a member of St. Luke Catholic Church in Temple, served on the board of the Angels of the Maternity Shelter and was board president of OLAMS (Our Lady of Angels Maternity Shelter).

He is survived by his children, Lisa Irene Barca and husband David of Fulshear, Marcia Marie Petter and husband Kurt of Temple, Andrea Alane Billeck and husband Billy Joe of Rogers, Matthew Damien Maspero of Houston and LuAnne Michelle Maspero-Ross and husband Matthew of Austin, grandchildren, Katherine Marie Putman and husband Josh of Temple, Mallory Elaine Mikes and husband Cody of Temple, Britton Dean Billeck of Rogers, Koby Mitchell Petter of Temple, and Randy David Barca and wife Natalie of Prairieville, LA and great-grandchildren Carson Wayne Mikes, Bentley Kate Mikes, Presley Owen Mikes, Parker Jordan Mikes, Carly Madison Barca, Laney Claire Barca, and Henry David Barca. Louis is also survived by a sister Diane Maspero.

He was preceded in death by his wife Barbara Lois “Barbie” Maspero, his parents, Anthony Francis and Monica Helen Maspero, and a brother John Alan Maspero.
