Louis R. Martinez

Louis R. Martinez, age 69, of Temple died Sunday, August 2, 2009 in a local hospital. Services will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday, August 6 at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Mattson officiating. Burial will follow at Temple Garden of Memories. Visitation will be held 6:00 - 8:00 PM Wednesday at the funeral home. Mr. Martinez was born on April 12, 1940 in Kendleton, Texas to Jose and Elvira (Rodriquez) Martinez. He worked at Poboril Paint & Body Service for over 39 years. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Lino Martinez. Survivors include his wife, Linda G. Martinez of Temple, children, Louise Sutton of San Antonio, Louis Martinez of Jackson, Florida, Mary Helen Pendergrast of Tennessee, Jodie Brantley of Florida, 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren and stepchildren, Johnnie Schilling of Belton, Randy Schilling of Temple, Sundy Sans of Kansas City, Missouri, Sol Schilling (USMC) of Camp Lejeune, North Carolina and five step-grandchildren. Also surviving are his brothers, Pete Martinez, Jesse Martinez, Joe Martinez, Johnny Martinez all of Freeport, Victor Martinez of Ganado, Roy Martinez of Florida and William Martinez of Angleton and his sisters, Sally Bermea of Ganado and Mary (Gingi) Rodriguez of Freeport.
