Lula Beatrice Young, 93, of Temple died Tuesday in a Temple living center. Services will be at a later date at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio. Mrs. Young was born in Plaquemine, Louisiana to James Bennett Taylor and Martha Lula Saums. She married George A. Young in 1946. He preceded her in death in 2009. She received a Bachelors degree from Louisiana State University and a Masters degree in Mathematics from Texas Women's University. She taught school at Richardson High School. She moved from San Antonio to Temple in 2003. She was a Methodist. Survivors include one son Kenneth Young of Garland; one daughter Karen Young of Temple; two grandchildren Cheryl LaBombard of Sachse and Cyndi Judd of San Antonio and two great grandchildren Sara Young of Sachse and Zach Young of Sachse. Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Thursday at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home.
