Mack Eddie Smith

Mack Eddie Smith, age 73 of Temple, died Saturday, August 23, 2014 at a local care center. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, September 1, 2014 at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home with Rev. Billy Koinm officiating. Private family entombment will be held at a later date at Bellwood Memorial Park. Mr. Smith's body will lie in state after 12:00 PM Sunday, August 31, 2014 at the funeral home. Mr. Smith was born on December 24, 1940 in Temple, Texas to the late Marion Glen Smith and Ruth Isabelle Baggett Smith. He married Charlotte Ann Haydon on July 20, 1963 and she preceded him in death on November 24, 2011. Mr. Smith was a member of Heights Baptist Church. He was the owner/operator of Mack Smith Air Conditioning and Heating and was an expert in his field for over 50 years. Mr. Smith was a member of the Wildflower Antique Automobile Club in Temple. Over the years, he owned and restored eight antique cars. Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his wife, Charlotte Smith. Survivors include his daughter, Beverly Smith Pool and husband Chris of Temple; two sons, Kenneth Smith of Palestine and Tracy Smith and wife Joanna of Palestine; a sister, Judy Dean and husband Remington of Panama; a brother, Aubrey Glen Smith and wife Connie of Temple; seven grandchildren, Kayla LeCheminant, Miah O'Neal, Ethan Smith, Coran Smith, Evan Pool, Haydon Pool and Reagan Pool; and two great grandchildren, Kaysen LeCheminant and Micah LeCheminant.
