Graveside services for Madeline “Mickey” Farmer Barnes, 81, of Temple will be held at 10:00 A.M. Thursday at Temple Garden of Memories with Rev. Billy Koinm officiating. Mrs. Barnes died Monday in a Temple Care Center. Mrs. Barnes was born May 31, 1936 to Ray and Laura Bailey Burns in Coffax, Iowa. She married John Farmer, Sr. He preceded her in death Dec. 27, 1988. She then married Bennie Joe Barnes. He preceded her in death February 24, 1999. She lived in Rogers before moving to Temple thirty years ago. She worked as a waitress for Veterans Café and worked for the Temple Housing Authority. She was a Baptist. Mrs. Barnes was also preceded in death by a son John “Squeaky” Farmer, Jr. and a brother Calvin Burns. Survivors include two daughters Loney Johnson of Troy and Lagina Raper of Temple; one son Ricky Farmer of Palestine; two step sons; one sister Donna Trogstad of Minnesota; eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Wednesday at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home.
