

Margaret H. (Maggie) Blackwood went to her permanent home to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 26, 2011. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 30, 2011 at the Scanio-Harper Funeral Home with Rev. Gary DeSalvo officiating. Graveside services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday at Restland Memorial Park in Dallas, Texas. She was born in Won San, Korea on January 5, 1931 and moved to Seoul, Korea soon after WWII. She immigrated to USA with her parents and siblings in 1966. She was happily married to her late husband Darby Blackwood for 25 years. As she moved to various States with her husband, their last residence together was in Moreno Valley, CA, where Darby passed away on December 2, 2005. The following year Maggie moved to Richardson, TX and lived there until 2011. She graduated from High School and obtained an associate degree in accounting from Choonagang University, Seoul, Korea. She was employed by PICOP,USA a Philippine based Timber Company, International from August 1966 to September 1984 in which time the Company was closed. UPS hired her to continue a career as an accountant for the following 8 years and her retirement in Atlanta, GA. Soon thereafter they chose Temple, TX as their retirement home where they worshipped and were actively involved in the fellowship of Temple Bible Church for the following 9 years. In July 2006, Maggie sold her home in California to move to a new home she purchased in Richardson, TX. She was a member of Korean Presbyterian Church in Richardson. She lived comfortably until a series of illnesses brought her to Scott & White Hospital. She was preceded in death by her parents, Tai Young Hahm and Dong Ryon Kim Hahm, husband, Darby Blackwood, sister, Jong Sook Kim, a niece, Soo Ok Moller. Survivors include three sisters, Sookja Hahn of Oakland, California, Mija Coles of Temple, Texas, and Suncha Calderon of Moreno Valley, California; one brother, Eddie Hahm of Irvington, New York; three step-sons, Roger Blackwood of Maryland, Larry Blackwood of Michigan, and Jeff Blackwood of California; numerous nephews and nieces. She will be forever remembered by her loving family members and dear friends for her kind, generous and gentle nature as well as our admiration for her strong sense of independence and most of all she was a faithful follower of our Lord Jesus.
