Funeral services for Martha Jo Bell, 84, of Temple will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday at Scanio Harper Funeral Home with Rev. Roy Parker officiating. Mrs. Bell died Monday in a Temple Hospital. Mrs. Bell was born in Odell to William Forrest Shelton and Nora Fay Winn Shelton. She married Arthur L. Bell Sept. 4, 1943. He preceded her in death Jan. 3, 2009. She graduated from Odell High School, received her Bachelors degree from Texas Wesleyan College in 1961 and her Masters Degree from Baylor University in 1969. She moved to Temple in 1965 and taught school at Thornton Elementary until she retired in 1985. She had also taught school in Corsicana. She was a member of the Retired Teachers Association and First Baptist Church of Temple. Survivors include one son Terry Bell of Dallas; one daughter Sherry Isbell of Valley View; one sister Reva Adams of Temple and one brother Billy Shelton of Vernon; seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
