Mary Ann Hopkins

Mary Ann Hopkins, age 87, of Temple passed away on Friday, February 10, 2017 at a local hospital. She was born on March 18, 1929 in West, Texas the daughter of Joe and Albina Walla. On January 26, 1949 in Waco Mary Ann married Charles Hopkins. A memorial visitation will take place on Thursday, February 16, 2017 from 6:30 PM until 7:00 PM at St. Luke's Catholic Church in Temple followed by a Rosary at 7:00 PMA memorial mass will be celebrated on Friday, February 17, 2017 at 11:00 AM at St. Luke's Catholic Church in Temple.Mary Ann retired after many years with the Temple Housing Authority, was a member of St. Luke’s Catholic Church in Temple, enjoyed spending time crocheting and knitting, and really enjoyed to play a round of golf especially at Sammons Golf Links where she was a member of their Woman’s Association. She is survived by her husband Charles Hopkins, Sr. of Temple, her children; Charles Hopkins, Jr. and wife Linda of Austin, Suzie Holcomb of Ft. Worth, Terry Hopkins and husband Victor Corpuz of Dallas, Bill Hopkins and wife Stephanie of Alvin, David Hopkins of Austin, and Carol Prater of Temple, grandchildren; Chris Hopkins and wife Nicole, Mary Katherine Hopkins, Amanda Doering and husband Zach, Jennifer Patel and husband Vivek, Stephen Holcomb, Laura Holcomb, Stefano Corpuz, John Hopkins, Dustin Prater and wife Kristen, and Jeffrey Prater, and great-grandchildren Jessie, Aubrey, Luke, Isaac, Skylar, Ethan, and Alex. She is also survived by her brother Charlie Walla and wife Karen and sister Dolores Quinn and husband Frank Mike. Mary Ann was preceded in death by her parents, a son John Hopkins, a brother Joe Walla, and sisters Rosalie Walla and Josephine Ames. In lieu of flowers memorial to St. Luke’s Catholic Church Building Fund 2807 Oakdale Dr. Temple, Texas 76502 would be appreciated.
