Mary L. Roper, age 88 of Belton, died Wednesday, January 9, 2019 in a local hospital. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, January 14th at Reeds Lake Cemetery with Rev. Landon Hebison officiating.
Mrs. Roper was born January 31, 1930 in Milam County to David W. Scott and Olea Bridges Scott. She graduated from Cameron High School. She married James E. Roper in 1953. He preceded her in death January 15, 2007. She retired from Temple ISD as a library assistant.
She was also preceded in death by a brother, Delbert Scott and a sister, Davie Dulaney. Survivors include her son, James D. Roper and wife, Becky of Temple, two grandsons, David Roper and wife, Jennifer of Stephenville and Jeffrey Roper and wife, Heather of Cuero and five great-grandchildren. Also surviving is one brother, Alton Scott of Oklahoma City and one sister, Billie Blackburn of Temple.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Miller Heights Baptist Church.
