

Our beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother, Patricia Bailey, age 72, passed away on Wednesday, January 28, 2015 at Scott & White Hospital after an extended illness. Services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, January 31, at First Church of the Nazarene in Temple with Rev. Darin Pound, Rev. Kevin Bell and Rev. Elwin Paulson officiating. Burial will follow at Bellwood Memorial Park. Visitation will be 6:00 - 8:00 PM Friday at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home. Patricia was born on March 14, 1942 in Tucumcari, New Mexico. She was the third of nine children. She graduated from Melrose High School and attended Eastern New Mexico University in Portales, New Mexico. On April 28, 1961, she married Harvey Bailey. They were married for 45 years, prior to Harvey's death. They raised three children and were doting grandparents to seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She had been a resident of Temple since 2005. She was a beloved preacher's wife and homemaker. She and her husband led three congregations from 1972 to 2005 in Fritch, Lewisville and Henderson, Texas. She was a wonderful servant of God. She was active in the Temple Church of the Nazarene. She was a member of the PEO Organization. Patricia played the piano, loved music and had a green thumb. She was a gifted seamstress, floral arranger and had many artistic talents. Her family was of utmost importance to her and she always put others before herself. Patricia was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey and two brothers, Charles and David. She is survived by her daughter Shirlene, a son Todd (daughter-in-law Tammy) and a son Randy (daughter-in-law Lorri). She leaves behind seven grandchildren: Allison (Gary), Christopher, Lauren, Taylor, Jackson, Victoria and Hunter. She will be missed by three great-grandchildren: Ava, Emerson Grace and Georgia. Mom is also survived by six siblings (Lois, Glen (Libby), Lauretta (Anon), Don (Kristy), Kevin and Keith) and numerous nephews and nieces. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to all who have been a part of Patricia's life. She will be greatly missed and remembered by many. We look forward to our reunion with her in heaven.
