A memorial service to celebrate Paul’s life will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, February 7, 2026, at Free Pentecostal Church of Jesus Christ, 117 N Birdwell St, Belton, Texas 76513.
Paul was born on January 6, 1944, in Brady, Texas, to Paul Aaron Gray and Rena Leona (Regian) Gray. He was raised in Central Texas and graduated from Temple High School. He later pursued biblical studies and devoted his life to ministry, music, and service to others.
On July 28, 1962, Paul married the love of his life, Sharon Darlyne Gray, in Temple, Texas. They shared many years together until her passing.
Paul was a lifelong minister and evangelist who loved preaching the gospel. He founded Bethesda Ministries International, Inc., through which he started numerous churches and licensed and ordained many preachers. He pastored churches in Temple, Texas; Carlsbad, New Mexico; and San Angelo, Texas, and evangelized throughout the country. Over the years, he performed many weddings and funerals. He also published a monthly newsletter titled “The Word of Liberation” and authored a book, “The Seven Trumpets,” a verse-by-verse explanation of the Book of Revelation.
Music was another great passion in Paul’s life. He enjoyed playing the piano, primarily during church services, and had a deep appreciation for old-time gospel music, as well as occasional country music. He owned and operated Total Piano Service, where he rebuilt antique player pianos and pump organs.
Paul lived in several communities throughout his life, including Brady, Dallas, San Angelo, Burkburnett, San Antonio, Carlsbad, New Mexico, and Temple, Texas. He was a member of the Pentecostal Church of Jesus Christ and did not serve in the military.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Sharon Darlyne Gray; his sisters, Roberta Cox and Lyda LaFern Gray; and his brother, Alvin Thurmand.
He is survived by his daughters, Rena Darlyne Gray and Charity Faith Gray; his sons, Paul Royce Gray and Timothy Layne Gray; ten grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
